UVB

Viruses, bacteria, mold, spores, fungi, etc., can rapidly multiply in damp, dark HVAC systems and spread throughout the building via air conditioning systems, making the indoor environment infectious. Our UV germicidal devices installed in air ducts inactivate pathogenic microorganisms “on the spot.” Building managers should consider installing this technology in their buildings.

Principle of operation

The UVB air disinfection wand has been designed as a family of single and double-tube models, featuring UV tubes of varying power (36, 60, and 95 W) and lengths (195, 395, and 500 mm). This system allows us to adapt flexibly to local conditions. To achieve the most effective germicidal and bactericidal effect, an air velocity of 2–2.5 m/s is required in the area of the UV lamp.

To destroy microorganisms, a radiation dose of 10–100 Ws/m² is generally required, although the radiation sensitivity of individual organisms varies greatly. The D10 dose value can range from 7 Ws/m² (Escherichia coli) to 1000 Ws/m² (fungi). The D10 value is the UV radiation dose that reduces an initial number of germs by 90%. The effect of UVC radiation on coronaviruses is well known. The D10 dose for these viruses is approximately 40 Ws/m2.
