Typical applications of the device are catering, canteen kitchens, fast food restaurants, show kitchens, the food industry, as well as places where grease and oil are heated and the grease-laden air causes deposits in the exhaust duct system and odors the environment. Deposits cause fire hazards and high cleaning costs. By installing an R-FILTER air purifying device in the exhaust duct, these problems will be eliminated by "cold burning" of the pollutants.
Operating principle
Not even the most efficient aerosol separators used in hoods above cooking or frying surfaces are capable of separating grease molecules smaller than 5 microns; these circulate further, contaminating the elements of the ventilation system.2) in the air, highly reactive oxygen atoms (O) are formed. In the second phase (oxidation), the ozone (O3) resulting from the combination of monoatomic oxygen (O) with oxygen from the air (O2) strongly oxidizes volatile organic compounds (VOCs), neutralizes unpleasant odors and disinfects the air. Furthermore, oxygen atoms (O), reacting with air moisture, create extremely reactive hydroxyl radicals, which intervene in the oxidation process with a short reaction time and high efficiency. As the final result, water vapor, carbon dioxide and a small amount of harmless dust are generated, which are exhausted with the emitted air without leaving deposits. The air duct remains practically clean and grease-free.

Since the broad-spectrum R-FILTER UV lamps also radiate at a wavelength of 253.7 nm, their bactericidal, disinfecting effect is also exerted.
