UVT

Treats and sterilizes the air inside enclosed spaces (hospitals, industrial facilities, etc.)

The device's own fan circulates the air to be sterilized in the room through the interior of the device, while germicidal lamps and a photocatalyst destroy airborne pathogens (viruses, bacteria, fungal spores).

Principle of operation

We also use titanium dioxide-coated surfaces and photocatalysts in our ceiling-mounted industrial germicidal devices. We use the synergistic effect of UV-C light and the germicidal action of the TiO2. Fans are installed to circulate the air from the room to be sterilized through the device. The air is first exposed to UV-C light, which has a disinfecting effect, then passes over a catalyst plate activated by the ultraviolet light.

The following air purification process takes place on the TiO-coated surface2:

The coating above is a semiconductor in which electrons (e-) are excited into the conduction band when illuminated with light of a certain wavelength, leaving holes (h+) in their place.2-) radicals are formed from the oxygen in the air. As a result, pollutants are decomposed, and microorganisms are destroyed by deterioration of their DNA structure. Microbes and organic matter are mineralized, producing carbon dioxide and water.
